“How far can the unit extend from the window that is venting? The photos appear to require it to be within a foot of the window. If the hose that comes with the unit is short, can it be replaced with a longer one? Thanks!”

While I have not stretched it out to full length, my unit is about two feet to the side of the window and at least 18 inches out. I probably could go further. The issue would be if it is too far away from the window, you have to deal with the hose being in the way of things. Also, you do not want any sharp bends. That said I would guess MAYBE up to 4 feet .....
