the volume and other advanced controls are transmitted through the HDMI communication protocol. you need to make sure that your receiver and/or TV have this function, and have it enabled. HDMI 2.1 has a lot of various functions, that aren't always implemented (optional tech), or if you have a cheaper cable, it may have some defective or disconnected wires for these optional features. older kinect models just blasted the room with IR to accomplish this. shame the series models don't have this feature anymore...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is most likely a setting on your XBOX that you need to enable to allow for communication with your TV. Go into the General Settings then Volume & Audio Output and check there. On my XBOX One X There is an option for to Setup TV & AV Control. You may also need to make sure you have that option on your TV as well. So check on your TV and the XBOX to allow for control of the volume.
