I also have a T3, Be sure to adjust settings in the camera as recommended and set the camera to "self timer/remote". If I remember correctly to do this I also had to set my camera to full auto :^( Be sure the remote is quite close, I don't think I could go farther than, like 10', and be sure there is nothing obstructing the sensors, nothing between the camera and the remote.

In the back of the camera, press the left key labeled with the boxes/remote/timer icon. Choose the timer mode in the middle that includes the wireless icon. Geoff
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Press the " continuous shooting" button and it should take you to the drive mode menu and you'll see single shooting, continuous shooting, etc. scroll to the Self timer/10 sec and select; do your test shot.
