• No, that setup will not work. The USB-C to HDMI & USB 3.0 with Power Delivery is intended to allow an additional USB peripheral, a display via HDMI port, and pass-through charge via USB-C power-in port while it's connected directly to a computer, tablet, or mobile phone. However, a device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode for video out and Power Delivery for pass-through charge. Without those features, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 will not function to a PnP device.
