“On my head phones... ONLY the right one is working. I tried holding down the volume btn for 3 secs to see if the left was switched off... nothing. I also tried just resetting them (per instructions). Nothing. ? Could it be the left is just not charged?”

You may have a defective set. I had those and never had that issue.
