Yes you can. You just have to double tap the play button. However, you can not go back to songs that just played

Double tapping the PLAY button worked for me using the Amazon Music app; however, it did NOT work when music settings were set to SHUFFLE. I imagine the double tapping PLAY on the Clip 3 may produce different results depending on the music app and the settings within that music app.

I haven’t found a way to... only downside to this speaker I’ve found. The convenience of the clip is very nice. We also like the quick connecting Bluetooth makes it nice. But as for the buttons, pause /play in center -hold for Siri. Vol up/down ( you can hold down for faster response). Power and Bluetooth button is on the right side...on the bottom there is little door with seal for mini usb charger port and auxiliary jack hookup.
