• The exposed charging port on the JBL FLIP 5 doesn't affect the IPX7 rating, the speaker is able to be submerged in 1 m of water for up to 30 min.

• The depth of the water makes a huge difference. A little bit of spit rain is no big deal but it such a great speaker- why risk it.....

• I don't think its water PROOF so much as water resistant, but hey give it a shot and let me know how it goes..jk!
