Depends on how you install the reservoir. The reservoir can be installed either to the right or left or behind the machine. If it's installed in the behind position, it is about 6' wide - due to the carafe. If you're storing the carafe and using it as a single cup with the reservoir in the back, it's about 4.5". The reservoir is about 3" wide, and so add that to the 4.5" if you install the reservoir on either side. This is a quality machine and is easy to use. The reservoir has a handle on it, so it's MUCH easier to remove, fill and reinstall the reservoir with water than the older style Keurig machines.
