Yes, you can brew 6 cups. You only have to the option for 6, 8, 10, or 12 cups.

I am really pleased with this coffee maker and the complete flexibility it gives me to brew a pot of coffee or just a cup and also adjust the amount of coffee either mode. Also bought the Keurig storage unit and the coffee maker sits on top of it with 35 cups in storage. The unit easily moves in and out on rollers so it takes less counter space but is easy to move.
