- Answer It comes with a gold filter that is reusable, and you don't need to use a paper filter with the gold filter. You can remove the gold filter and use a same size paper filter if you wanted.

- Answer Hi Mars, Before descaling, always make sure the brew basket contains no coffee grounds, gold tone filter or any cone paper filters. If using vinegar, fill the Water Tank with a solution consisting of 6 cup vinegar and 6 cup cool water. If using a descaling agent, fill the Water Tank with descaling agent and cool water. Follow the directions on the package for the recommended ratios of descaling Vinegar agent and cool water to use. When the “Clean” indicator begins to flash on the display, run a clean cycle: Press the CLEAN button. The “Clean” indicator will stop flashing. Then press the BREW button to begin the Clean cycle. When the Clean cycle is complete (approximately30 minutes), 3 beeps will sound, and the “Clean” indicator will turn off. Run at least 2 fresh, cool water-only cycles after the Clean cycle is complete
