Hello Richard, You absolutely can use the throttle only! Just a heads-up: using throttle-only will consume more battery power than pedaling, so the maximum advertised range won't be completely accurate if you aren't using the pedal assist. If you are planning on riding primarily with the throttle, we definitely recommend getting the 750W version of our XP Trike2 to ensure you have that extra power and efficiency. Keep in mind that a lot of different variables go into your actual battery range, including rider weight, terrain (like hills), wind, tire pressure, and how fast you are cruising. Let us know if you have any other questions as you check out the XP Trike2!
