  • QuestionOf the 8 GB RAM installed, Windows says only 5.57 GB is usable. More than 4.5 GB of that is in use at idle, with lots of pre-installed software removed. Why is so much unusable and what setting(s) can be adjusted to improve the usable amount?

    • Answer Hey, Cpm0813. With the amount of memory being used, it could be reserved for your integrated graphics to use. This can be adjusted in the system BIOS. If it isn't adjusted by system updates, you may have to change the virtual memory reserved.
