“I have my LG sound bar connected thru optical to my non-smart tv. I’m able to play only Bluetooth on my phone. But cannot get the sound from the tv. My tv also doesn’t have a “sound out” option. Any suggestions?”

You will likely have to use the red and white rca cable jacks. I'm not sure about the sound out options of your TV.
