• You can use either the Optical Digital Audio In or use Bluetooth to stream audio from the LG SL4Y 2.1 Channel 300W Sound Bar w/ Bluetooth Streaming to another device. If you are using Bluetooth, you do not have to have an optical cable connected to the unit...^IFV

• These accomplish two different talks. The sound bar works best with cable connected to TV, for optional audio. Bluetooth allowed you to connect for playing sound from phone or other device
