• Like all other LG Over-the-Range Microwave Ovens, the LG 2.1 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Smart Microwave with Sensor Cooking and ExtendaVent 2.0 - Black Stainless Steel, Model # MVEL2137D, can be vented in one of three ways; roof-venting, wall-venting, or room-venting (aka recirculating/ductless mode). The microwave oven only requires ductwork to properly vent through a roof or wall. If exterior ducting is not available, the unit can be set up to recirculate air back into the kitchen, which does not require external ducting but does require the use of a charcoal filter, which is typically included in the packaging and needs to be placed behind the top vent grille...^Ivan.
