“Can someone tell me for sure if I will have to manually defrost a 1/4 to 1/2 in of ice build-up in this freezer at least once a year? The specifications for the freezer say "No frost -- NO" and Freezer type - "Manual". In the 21st century hard to believe.”

New standards on appliance efficiency almost require the computer (main board) decides when, how long & how often to defrost modern fridges. Tracks door opening & compressor cycles. But can't track humidity, drain icing or door seals. Any and all of these things cause frost build up. Thanks Obama's EPA. Only least expensive smaller basic fridges have mechanical defrost if any do in 2021
