Yes, you can turn the craft ice maker off and remove the bin. Whatever you store there would need to be relatively low, because the ice maker hangs down about 4” from the top. The bin is around 8.75”wx12.75”lx4.75”h

Yes, you can switch it to OFF. I have not counted how many of those ice balls it holds, but I would guess we have about 25 right now. It makes 3 every 18 hours.

Yes. The ice bin can be removed. The craft ice maker can also be turned to the off position. However, doing that really defeats the purpose of buying this unit.
