QuestionThe ice is frozen in the Craft Ice cube maker and won't release and now the bin just fills with water and freezes. Is there a fix? Have tried turning it off and on.

- Answer Turn off the ice maker for a couple of days. After the 2 days, remove the ice bucket, turn on the ice maker and push the reset button(little square button up and under the front panel of the ice maker). You may need the assistance of small mirror or use your cell phone and reverse the view so you can see the reset button. When you push the button, it will activate the "dumping mode" and the balls of ice will be hanging from the silicone molds they are stuck to. Grab them quickly before the mechanism closes again. You will probably have three ice balls stuck together. After removal, the water will fill the molds as usual. This will allow the ice to start forming as normal. Wait 24-36 hours for the next batch to cycle through. This overflow situation has happen to me twice in the past, and this is how I fixed it.

QuestionThe craft ice tastes bad but regular ice and water taste fine. Why is that and how can I fix it? My tap water also tastes fine so there is something about the craft ice maker that’s causing this. Also not picking up odor from freezer. Coming out that way

- Answer We got our refrigerator a month ago and we have the EXACT same issue. Water and regular ice taste fine… but craft ice balls are unusable as they taste so strongly of chemicals. It’s not our lines as we have a brand new copper ice maker line. I saw someone post the same question on LG’s forum and it never received a response. Frustrating because it was one of the main selling features of this product for me. If even LG themselves wouldn’t respond to a customer on their own forum, I would say avoid this product if it’s an important feature to you.

- Answer Airflow around refrigerators is very necessary. Refrigerators need to breathe. If they are entirely boxed in, then there's not much room for ventilation. The recommended installation clearance spacing for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 23.5 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator with Craft Ice™ - PrintProof™ Stainless Steel, Model # LRFXC2416S is Sides 1/8", Top 1", Back 2". The coils and components are located below the refrigerator in the back and if the fridge has proper spacing the grill below the unit will pull in cooler air as the coils and components heat up. The warm air will travel behind the rear of the fridge and dissipate through the top channel. This keeps the coils and components cool, so they do not overheat. A fridge without proper ventilation will show specific symptoms, some right away, and some over the course of a few years. - Answer Per manufacturer's instructions, the water filter can be replaced on the inside of the door without turning off the water supply.

QuestionCan the French doors be adjusted so they don’t slam shut? The left door is heavy when the ice dispenser is full and tends to slam shut if you are not careful when closing.

QuestionEven though I flushed more water through the water line and filter than recommended, the water still tastes bad. LG said it is because of braided stainless water line Best Buy installed. Does this make sense? Is copper or CREX better?

- Answer I already talked to LG. They are the ones that told me Best Buy shouldn’t have used the braided stainless steel water line and that I need to change it to the recommended copper or PEX (sorry for typo in original question). Just annoying I already paid Best Buy so much for them to do it wrong and now I have to find someone to fix it or do it myself. Also confusing why stainless steel water line causes a chemical taste. I miss my GE refrigerator that had great tasting water and filter worked fine with stainless steel water line!!

- Answer Yes. The craft ice can be turned off separately from the door icemaker, so, if you want to remove the craft ice tray to make more freezer storage, you can.

QuestionOwners manual does not address this in any way. How or can the left door be adjusted so it does not slam shut. One must purposely hold the door back from slamming. Letting the door shut on its own is not an option if you want to keep btls from breaking

- Answer The left door is heavier because of the added weight of the icemaker but I don't think it should slam shut if the unit is properly leveled. QuestionAfter you select the amount of water on the autofill how do you get it to start filling? Sounds stupid, but is says to press the dispenser switch with a container and I cannot find a dispenser switch.

- Answer The feature is incorrectly named, it is an auto stop as you have to hold the paddle depressed throughout the fill. Great fridge is great auto fill is just shy of useless.

- Answer Not only is it not magnetic...magnets will not stick to it. We were surprised when we went to stick on our photo magnets from our old fridge and they would not adhere. Not sure how they pulled that off with stainless steel, but it's a fact.
