Q: QuestionDoes the LG wdp3w fit the LG wm4270hva washing machineMy current LG washer just failed and I need to replace but I'd like to keep my pedestal and get another LG washer. I've read that the dimensions are the same for wdp3 and wdp4 pedestals. Are there additional components necessary to make it fit. And will installers install on my old pedestal or do I have to do it myself.

• A:Answer Installation is usually included with delivery. They are the same exact pedestals, just difference is the drawer with the handle and the newer which is flush. Do you know if there is a mounting kit currently installed on yours? You may be able to reuse it if there was

• A:Answer I'm not absolutely sure it will hold the weight of both, however, I don't think that would be a great idea because of the overall height of trying to reach the dryers (assuming the dryer is on top of course) settings.

• A:Answer It all depends on how/where they mount. I would figure that out and take measurements of my base and go to the store to compare to the new units. A more thorough approach would be to disassemble the two you have to get a clearer idea of how and where they mount. I kept my old ones and hope to repurpose for storage somewhere else. Different brand and about 7 - 8 years old so totally incompatible

Keep in mind that these units are years apart so we say that with caution, but given the dimensions for the WM0642HW, it appears that it will fit...^IFV

• A:Answer I bought my LG washer/dryer with the pedestal at bestbuy. The same color matched pedestal worked for all the models at that time. I suggest you call the store and confirm. I doubt the pedestal would be specific.Highly recommend the pedestal. It brings the washer/dryer to the right height and saves your back over time.

The LG - Washer/Dryer Laundry Pedestal for Most LG Washers and Dryers, Model # WDP4V can be used in a stacked configuration or separately under the washer and the dryer. The only concern you would have if you used it in the stacked configuration is whether or not the height of the Dryer would put it out of reach because it's too tall. The pedestal has a height of 13.6"...IFV
