Can you please clarify what you mean by the Energy Star® Qualified LG 27.1 Cu. Ft. The refrigerator has a width of 35.88" (35 7/8"), and the recommended installation clearance spacing for the sides is 0.125" (1/8"), so it will fit into a 36" space. It has a width of 38.88" (38 7/8") with the Door Open 90˚, and a Door Edge Clearance with Handle of .38" (19/50"). If your space is exactly 38", as you can see from the above-mentioned dimensions, the door will not open 90°. You do not have enough door edge clearance in your space for the doors to open 90°...^Ivan.
