“When I wash clothes, the water and clothes come out extremely warm. I've used the cold, tap cold, and even tried a hot/warm setting just to see if maybe the hoses were flipped, but I always get warm clothes. Will this machine ever use only cold water?”

It seems there's something wrong. This doesn't happen to me and I have the same washer. Are you sure your cold water is "turned on"? I'd try a cycle where I turn off the hot water and see what happens.
