“Does this model have less of a problem with mildew and mold than other LG models? I have to clean the detergent tray at least monthly and the inside of the washer tub and ring every single week. It's a lot of maintenance to keep the odor and mold out.”

Over time, residue may build up in the drum, leading to mildew or a musty odor. Run the Tub Clean cycle monthly to remove residue and prevent odor. Tub Clean is a special cycle designed to clean the inside of the washer. After you finish using the washer, leave the door open overnight to allow air to circulate and dry the drum. This helps prevent odors. ^Daphane

With what I've seen all front load washers have that problem, the washer has a cleaning cycle and it tells you when it needs to be run I have already used it. The nice thing is the app that connects to wifi and let's you know everything. Nice unit
