  • QuestionDoes the basket gasket have any problems with mold and mildew and if so, how do you prevent it from happening?

    Asked by DelReyDeb.

    • Answer The gasket has drain holes, so there are only small independent drops of water on it after a cycle. The door has a clever magnetic prop to keep the door slightly open when the machine is not in use so everything can dry out. And, there is a Tub Clean cycle designed to be used every 30 cycles or so designed to keep things clean, including unseen areas. If you choose to use the LG app, ThinQ, it will remind you when to run the Tub Clean cycle.

  • QuestionWhat is the total depth needed, including the 4 inches for venting, for the unit?

    Asked by Debbie.

    • Answer The depth of the washer is 30-3/8". To ensure sufficient clearance for water inlet hoses, drain hose and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1'' at the sides and 4'' behind the appliance. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances. So the total depth needed is 34-3/8". ^Daphane

  • QuestionCan this unit be installed in a second floor condominium laundry closet?

    Asked by JeanF.

    • Answer The dryer exhaust system must be exhausted to the outside of the dwelling. If the dryer is not exhausted outdoors, some fine lint and large amounts of moisture will be expelled into the laundry area. An accumulation of lint in any area of the home may create a health and fire hazard. ^Daphane

  • Questionif washer or dryer breaks does the whole unit need to be replaced or just the broken unit

    Asked by george.

    • Answer If one of the components breaks down beyond repair, the whole unit would have to be replaced--which is similar to stacked sets. Will stacked, if, say, the washer breaks down beyond repair after a few years, you probably couldn't find the exact same washer to replace it, so you would need to replace both units. Stacking units not specifically designed to be stacked together could be dangerous and would probably void the warranty.
