• No just one small update and you don’t need Wi-Fi.. contects Bluetooth thru phone but Wi-Fi not needed

• Unfortunately, the crappy advanced technology on this LG low quality sound bars are not able to stand on their own or don't respond well without having WIFI. Yes, to make it work properly, you will need a WIFI.

• I didn’t hook mine up with WiFi, and everything seems to work fine. Bluetooth works with phone, and have it connected to my tv.
