Hi there, thank you for your question about the LG WM8900HBA washer! The minimum distance recommended from the back wall is 1 inch. This allows for proper ventilation and ensures that the water connections can be made without obstruction. It's important to make sure there’s enough space for the hoses and to prevent any potential issues with drainage or operation. The inlet on the washer in my case sits pretty even with the water outlet. You will need a splinter for the cold water line if you intend to use the dryer steam function. Just something to be aware of if you're installing it yourself. The dryer requires quite a bit more clearance to prevent crushing the vent hose. You'll need 5-6" there with a standard flex hose. I opted for a rigid metal exhaust that is not a hose so I could push the dryer back farther.
