Yes the g2 does have a heat sink. The heat sink is supposed to allow the TV to run brighter (hotter). As for helping prevent burn in I don't know if that will help prevent burn in but the 5 year warranty should help put that fear to rest.

The heat sink does not prevent burn in but allows LG to increase the brightness of the OLED screen. It has the brightest screen of any OLED television.
