Drive SP80NB80 requires a CPU and an operating system. Requires a Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Mac OS X Operating System and a Pentium IV 2.4 GHz or higher CPU with a hard disc of 20GB or more free space and video memory of 64 MB. If there is a way to get the files on your computer, then they can be burned onto a CD. I am unable to offer an option. Please seek recommendations/opinions on the customer forums at https://www.facebook.com/LGUSA; they are a great resource for getting help from other LG customers. Thank you. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think so. I've ripped several CD's into MP3/FLAC files using this drive, and written several more DVD's to archive some files that no longer need to sit on a drive. So far this drive has worked flawlessly. I don't know how this drive will work with scratched disks, but remember it's all digital (1's and 0's) so there is no low quality or high quality rips, it's just a matter of success or fail. For the price I would say go for it and see what you get.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should have no trouble using a slim design optical disc drive for doing that. But it does depend on the performance of the PC it will be attached to. I have a 2014 Windows 10 PC that I used to make RIPs of my audio collection. Forty thousand .MP3s later my original external USB 2 LiteOn DVD burner was still working just fine. I then used it to RIP all my DVDs to archive them for my media players. After converting nearly 1200 movies the drive finally stopped working. That was an 8 year run from a unit made in 2013. Not bad considering it only cost me $25 new.
