Regrettably, we do not know any details about the HDMI adapter that you intend to use with the LG PF50KA 1080p Wireless Smart DLP Portable Projector - White, Model # PF50KA to advise you as to whether or not it will work with an iOS (Ipad/phone) device. However, it is not the HDMI connection that will matter, but the oprtating system, and regrettably, the projector is not compatible with the iOS operating system...^IFV

What I can tell you is that I connected my brand new Apple Laptop to the projector with an HDMI cable. I had to buy an adapter from Best Buy because the new Laptop doesn't come with any HDMI ports but the Adapter works well. I get nice clear, crisp 6 foot across the top videos. I had to connect my sound bar with a cable because the words were out of sync with the lips for movie video files on my computer when using the bluetooth on the projector. I don't have an iPhone but if you have an adapter for the iPhone that allows it to send HDMI signals to the projector, I don't see why that wouldn't work as well as my laptop setup. I hope someone who is using that exact setup gives an answer.

I use the projector for backyard movies, streaming directly from an Amazon fire stick plugged directly into the HDMI port. I've also plugged my MacBook Air directly into the projector via usb-c to HDMI adaptor, and streamed and projected content. It should work with an iPad/Iphone via HDMI without issue.
