• Yes. It will automatically swap to an active source if the current source is inactive. It will also prompt you to switch if a new source is added, but you still need to select it manually. I use this monitor for my PC and for console gaming, and as long as my computer is off, it will automatically swap to my console when I turn it on and vice versa.

• Hi, Chad! With HDMI, each monitor needs an HDMI cable to your PC. You can freely combine HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI. One monitor can be HDMI, the other DisplayPort and so forth. Thanks for your question! ~Rita
