“I have a smart drive for my cameras but my modem does not have any more ethernet ports so what I want to do is Buy the Linksys and connect that to the modem. Then use the Linksys to connect other devices via Ethernet. Will that work or is a router better”

• Hi, Jay! Your setup will work. However, the SE3005 should be connected to the router.

• This will work as this device only adds more slots to your main modem for wired internet connection. If you want a wifi device attached to it, that may also work. It is a matter of choice.
