Yes, it matters which way you connect it because anything downstream of your Eero will go off line if the Eero fails. It becomes a single point of failure and you don't want that. Plug the new switch into the router that has additional ports if possible.

Please try again later.I'm not familiar with Eero devices in general or how an Eero in bridge mode would work, but you should be able to plug any devices into the router that has multiple Ethernet ports, as it sounds like the router has an Ethernet switch in it (hence the five ports). As far as whether it matters, again, I can't speak to Eero devices, but I prefer as few "hops" in my networking connections as possible, so all other things being equal, would plug whatever I could directly to the router in order to avoid traversing the Eero and thus adding another "hop."
