If you have no cabling at all in there right now, you will need three. One from wall to switch, one each from switch to computers.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In order to connect two computers together using a switch you will need two cables, one to each of the computers from the switch. To add additional computers you will need additional cables. If you will only need to connect the two computers you could forgo the switch and just use a single crossover cable between the two computers.
