Mostly, yes. The advantage of the 6 GHz over the 5 is, there are fewer devices that use the new frequency. You would see a slight gain otherwise from using higher frequence, but not that much. If you live in a crowded place with lots of WiFi around you, you will see more benefit. If you live in the middle of nowhere with nothing but cows for hundreds of miles, you won't notice a difference.
