If you are looking for the 6ghz band you will need the iphone 13 if it supports it. iPhone 12 supports Wi-Fi 6. To use the 6ghz band you need a device that supports Wi-Fi 6e.

Thus, your device must support a 6.0-GHz (Wi-Fi 6E) connection in order for it to connect to the 6.0-GHz band. Otherwise, it will only connect to the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bands. You may check with the manufacturer of your device to see if it supports a 6 GHz radio and or if driver updates are needed.
