Yes, bogey. If you set up the Linksys Velop in your network, you will need to turn off the router capability of your modem router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using Frontier Fios, but I guess the same as I have experienced applies to Comcast systems. The Velop system builds an extra network when you set it up, so the old one will still be running, and can still be used as well. Remember when you set up the Velop, to give the network that it creates, it's very own name, so you can differentiate between the Velop network and the "old" network.

I found the built in functionality of this wireless far superior to everything else I have tested, mainly extenders. Not sure why you would want two wifi networks? If you need for work or something else, just be careful with choosing channels, naming etc. To ensure maximum capability of this product it need to hook directly to router/modem from Comcast.
