Only the initial satellite is wired. All other satellites are simply plugged into the wall. I only used a Cat 5 cable to connect the initial satellite to my cable modem. Once installed I measured download and upload speeds from every corner of the house and found to my amazement no matter where I was I pegged the rated cable service speed of 65 mb at every corner and floor of the house. The result is that every device and computer responds instantly, no matter where you are. And the days of a movie buffering to the visual of a spinning ball are over!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They support backhauling via wired, but it is not a requirement, once any of the units are connected into your Internet Modem, the other two becomes part of same network mesh connection. So the two LAN wired ports on those units can serve as a connection to your TV, AppleTV, Game Console, Computer, etc. I do recommend you connect with a CAT6 cable since a CAT5 might not get you 1Gbps speed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You only need one "hardwire" ethernet connection to your DSL or Cable modem. The other two units connect over a backend high performance 5 ghz wireless network to your primary, and they do the transport and backhaul tasks, leaving the two other spectrums free for use. You can plug them in if you have gig-E and get a marginal performance boost, but in most cases you won't need it. My 3 perform flawlessly over wireless, with 3 TV's streaming, and one person on an xBox one doing live gaming, we have no degradation anywhere in the house. This is the way a mesh network is supposed to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only one unit is hard wired to the cable modem. The other units are wireless nodes. You have the option of hardwiring components (such as an Xbox or AppleTv) using the LAN port on the wireless units but you cannot hardware all of them to be used as individual access ponts. Only one unit at a time can be the master within the subnet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They will all link wirelessly to each other so long as they are in wireless range of each other. However, you can connect them to each other using a network cable, just note that there are only two Ethernet ports per node.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are wireless but do have ports so that you can wire them all together if you want to. I am getting full speed results with all three wireless. My home is 3500+ sq ft with an additional 30ft garage. I get full bars all over house. I only drop one bar when I walk about 100 ft from the farthest corner of the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only one base need to be connected to Modem. Remaining two are connected to wireless using APP. I think you will see same bandwidth speed if you still connect with Cat 6 cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only one has to be wired to your network. The other two are wireless.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both satellites are wireless.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One is required to be wired, the other two are set up wireless. I have a 2600 sq ft home and have no dead spots in the home after installing these per the instructions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
