• Both! There's a button above the mouse wheel that has 3 different DPI settings, and if you download Logitech G-Hub you can even change what DPI you want them to be for each click of the button.

• The dpi settings are set in software - lets you pick the dpi settings you want to jump to and there is a hardware button above the mouse wheel to cycle through these.
