• That happens to me to, take my advice and return them because they will break after a few months.

• You cannot change the cable...easily. If you know how to solder, then you could change it out, or, if the cable works but you're afraid it might break soon, then you could engineer some support by using shrink tubing (or electrical tape, etc,) Or, you could buy a new one and be extra careful in the future :-)
