Doesn't require additional cable. Once you downliad the harmony app and follow through setup it is very easy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure what your Bose AV 38 is. You do need a WIFI network to program the remote/hub. On your PC, you download the MyHarmony application and program it like the older Harmony remotes. Put in hardware's make and model numbers, the activities, etc... You can also set up everything with your phone. Once you get everything set up, you sync it up. The remote works over Bluetooth to the hub. The hub works with devices over IR and/or Bluetooth. Since the hub has an IR transmitter and they give you a second one, you are pretty sure you will not have trouble with blocked IR signals. With the older Harmony IR remotes, the family would hit either the On or Off button but not keep the remote pointed at the devices, so only 1/2 of them would turn off or on. This is not a problem with the Bluetooth remote. It is by far a superior set up over the old standard Harmony IR remotes. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had to use a smart phone to program the remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to Logitech's website, this remote, as well as all their others will control the AV38 system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not have a Bose system, however the new programming interface is much nicer than the old one. I miss the touch screen of my Harmony One but I can get that from the Smart Phone app. It should not require any additional cables. The unit also comes with an extra IR blaster if needed. Make sure you handle the product in the store. I did not like the button layout of this remote. I ended up returning this unit for the Home control.
