• No you must have a hub to use with any home control product. The hub is what the commandsare sent to from your alexa or google device then from there to tv or home enertainment device

• I've been using mine with Amazon Alexa. Haven't figured out how to connect with Google.

• Did not need a hub to get this to work with amazon echo dot, just the app. Clarification, you do need harmony hub.
