Yes. My receiver, cable box, Blu-ray and xbox 360 are inside cabinet doors and all are controlled by the remote. That is the purpose of the hub that is also inside the cabinet. The IR blaster is the only piece located outside the cabinet in front of the TV so the hub can communicate with the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it works fine in a closed cabinet, the unit also comes with an extra IR blaster in the base unit does not reach all components of your system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No the remote doesn't need line of sight for it to work. But the HUB needs to be close to your components to be able to activate the IR.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to use either. I have the same issue and either works for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. If you use the wireless hub all of your devices are controlled from either your smart phone or with the wi-fi remote that is included. I have a Bose system,PS3, Directv box, on one wall in a cabinet....and a flat panel mounted over the fireplace on another wall. All pieces work with the hub in the cabinet. I did not need to use the ir blaster that it came with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the remote is RF and can control devices in cabinets.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't use bluetooth. It connects to your home network and then has an included IR blaster that you can place inside your cabinet. If you need an additional IR blaster, you can purchase that separately. So yes, you can control devices behind closed doors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the remote and the app will work. The remote uses RF to communicate to the hub which will then transmit to device(s). The app communicates with the hub thru wifi then will transmit. Both app and remote will work behind closed doors. On a side note: The remote does not utilized IR, the Hub does. Make sure the Hub and IR mini blaster are placed correctly, which logitech explains in the manual and online videos. IR devices will work with direct line of sight and closed as long as the hub/mini blaster are placed correctly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This will control both devices that require line-of-sight and those that do not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the Harmony Smart Control can control devices behind closed doors. You can use the app on your tablet/phone, or the mechanical remote that is included with the Smart Controller. Either the control hub or the included IR blaster must be placed inside the cabinet. Your remote or tablet/phone app communicate with the hub via wi-fi but still use IR to complete the signal path to your devices. If you have devices inside and outside of the cabinet, then either the hub or IR blaster must be located inside and the other outside so both areas are covered by the IR signal.
