My filter tends to last 3 to 6 months, but honestly it depends on whether you are on city water or on a well and how much water (300gal/filter) you use. I can notice when our rural well water sediment is build up in the filter because the water starts to slow down when filling a glass. That often happens before the time limit for the filter.

LG recommends replacing your water filter every six months to ensure optimal performance and water quality. If your refrigerator has a filter status indicator, be sure to reset it after installing a new filter so you’ll receive timely reminders. Remember to use only genuine LG replacement filters—using non‑LG or expired filters, or extending beyond six months, can affect performance and isn’t covered under warranty.
