• Very silent, can't tell it's running when in the next room. The online manual, at Maytag.com, or manualsonline.com, has the decibel rating.

• The decibel rating is 49 and we have an open area between the kitchen and the L.R. So quietness is very important.. You don't hear it filling ( like our older one) and just hear a quiet noise when it empties but not anything that interferes with hearing the TV.

• 50. I find it really quiet. Our kitchen is not located so close to living areas that we needed anything quieter. I didn't see the need to pay the extra $ for that.
