My new Maytag washer model MVW6230HW was delivered June 17 and is doing the same thing when I use normal and quick wash cycles. It works fine (i.e., I get a proper rinse) with the bulky and wrinkle control cycles. Haven’t had time to try the other cycles yet. I posted a question here and the response I got was to call Maytag at 800-344-1274, which I did today. After waiting on hold for 1/2 hour, the first person I talked to said she would be happy to help me and then the line went dead. I tried a second time - another 1/2 hour wait to get through. I asked the second person if this rinse procedure is normal for these cycles and is a way to save water. I know that other washers (e.g., Speed Queen) have a water saving rinse that just rains water on the clothes without filling the tub. She said that was the case here, but she didn’t sound very convincing. I asked her why there is no mention of this water saving rinse in the quick reference guide that came with the washer. And I also asked why the guide didn’t caution people not to use fabric softener with these cycles since fabric softener needs to be mixed in with the rinse water - and there is no tub full of rinse water in this case. She clearly didn’t know the answer and just kept trying to find it in the quick reference guide which is silent on this issue. So, the bottom line is I am still not convinced that the washer is functioning properly and am considering just returning the washer to Best Buy within the 15 day return window. Very disappointed with Maytag. This washer replaced my 12 year old Maytag Bravos which was a far superior product until it died. No more Maytags in my house!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had 2 Maytags replaced because of the same thing. This same model. 1st one worked for about 4 1/2 months then started spinning through the entire rinse cycle. After nearly 4 months of waiting on different parts that didn't fix the problem, Whirlpool finally agreed to replace it. Same model #. This one immediately did same thing. Spins through entire rinse cycle. They replaced it and we chose another model. Still a Whirlpool. Guess what? SAME PROBLEM!!! 3 strikes and you're out! There will be NO MORE Whirlpool washers in my house! By the way, I've done the reset they recommend here probably 4 ... maybe 5 times. Just did it again after reading this. Washed a load of clothes and ... well, you know .... SAME THING!!! I can't constantly stand over the machine & stop it when it finishes washing and then start another wash cycle with no soap just top let it rinse. As soon as I get this junk picked up I'll go somewhere else and buy a real washing machine. Oh yea, not just delicate cycle ... but all cycles do this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Nellie, if you feel that the unit isn't cycling properly oftentimes it may just need a reboot. We suggest either unplugging the unit or shutting it down at the breaker for 90 seconds (don't go over 90 seconds) then power the unit back on, and run the cycle again. If it still isn't running properly please reach out to us directly via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/maytag or Twitter @MaytagCare. Let’s see what we can do for you!
