Yes, after it said nothing of auto renewal on the Best Buy page where I bought it. After buying the 1 yr/1 device subscription, I went to activate and after it was "activated" I was required to put in my bank info for auto renewal to complete the download.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.IT'S A GOTCHA ! Currently in the year 2026 you do need a CC and sign up for Automatic Renewal at an inflated price in order to activate. It even says it on the front of the box in small print. We have used McAfee for the last five years without having to do this automatic renewal process. This year they changed the policy in regards to that. Shame on McAfee and the Donkey it rode in on. Switching back to Norton.
