• There is a separate port to charge with the surface charger, however you can also charge with the USB-C. I personally use the USB-C charger most of the time and my original charger at home, but you definitely have options.

• There is a special port on the right side that is used for charging, and also serves as a docking port for the Surface Dock 2. The charger that comes with it is not a USB C charger.
