“What happens if the USB inside breaks couple years down the road? Will I be able to just put the key into any windows to activate the license on it? How easy will it be to transfer the windows license to another computer. (let's say I bought a new SSD)?”

If the USB breaks you are out of luck either way. You cannot do a reinstall with or without the key unless you have a working USB stick. The only Windows and license that will transfer to another computer is the full retail version (the $140 version - NOT the $100 version)
