Windows 10 is better than windows 7 because windows 10 is still getting updates which means there are more patches than windows 7th and the security is more viable to McAfee Norton and so on..

Also, consider whether spending $140 on an older machine is better than popping for a new machine that already has Win 10 and is newer. The answer depends on how powerful the original computer is. For example, if it only has 4 Gb of memory and a slow processor, it will struggle with Win 10 and might be painfully slow. But, I am running a powerful computer from 2012 and it is working well.
