I just did so on December 14 with no problems. While my CPU is 9 years old, it was top line back then, and still runs the latest games at acceptable frame rates, I have 16 GB of new ram, a new 2-Tbyte hard drive (replacing an old 1-Tbyte drive that had been imaged and backed up before it died) and a new video card, so look at your hardware requirements.

Some of your programs may not work though, or may have to be reinstalled after Windows 10 is installed. I think it's better to do a clean install and especially now, when Windows 7 updates is coming to an end on Jan 14, 2020. Any programs you have on Win 7 that are compatible with Windows 10, you can install after. Hope this helps...
