The USB-C port on Motorola phones is a USB 2.0 port using a USB-C connector. You typically use a USB-C to USB 2.0 cable/adapter to use it. One is included to connect to the USB 2.O charger. You cannot use a USB-C to USB-C cable to charge the phone. USB 2.0 transfers data at 480 Mbps, which not sufficient for most monitors. The phone has no hardware that understands USB-C protocols or that can handle higher speed data. It does handle USB 2.0 OTG to connect to flash drives, digital cameras, mouse, keyboard, printer, another phone's memory, etc. It also supplies enough current to charge up earbuds, but not enough to run a cable powered hard drive.
